One of the movie’s outstanding points is its production design, which greatly contributes to the scariest scene. To stop Valak in her tracks, Taissa Farmiga and Storm Reid portray the nuns who are on the run. Early in her career, Reid has dazzled, but this feels like a little misstep because she doesn’t given the chance to display the range we know she has. Nearly a “Indiana Jones” attitude to things is what The Nun 2 is going for. There is the customary wraparound material to remind you that all of this is based on the Warrens’ case files, but the franchise is beginning to show its age.
